Kunal Minerals Private Limited established in 2010 is in the business of making ferro alloys using Arc furnaces. We are a diversified family managed business with investment in the field of Ferro alloys, Iron & Steel, Chemical, Education, Real-estate, Fertilizer, Paints pigment, Rubber additive, Steel Additive. The Second Generation is working towards sustaining the same growth rate.

Role Statement 

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Mechanical Department for our internal operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth functioning of our factory's machine, maintaining equipment health, ensuring safety protocols, and optimizing machine output

Location 

Industrial Area, Bhanpuri, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.                              

Reporting To

- Reports functionally to the Director of the Company, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.

- Reports administratively to the CFO, facilitating coordination with financial and administrative directives.

Key Qualification Criteria (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

1. Knowledge: 

·       Possess a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical, or equivalent qualification.

2. Skills:

·       Demonstrated technical expertise in Mechanical engineering of a factory.

·       Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

3. Abilities

  • Capability to apply Mechanical engineering knowledge in a manufacturing context.
  • - Leadership skills to progress from an entry-level role to the Head of Department (HOD) within the Mechanical department.
  • - Minimum of 2 years’ experience as the leader & head of the Mechanical department in a manufacturing unit & additionally, having ascended from the ranks within a manufacturing unit to the position of Head of Department (HOD).

Key Responsibilities:













1.      Adhering to Preventive Maintenance Schedule:

·       Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure the smooth functioning of equipment and facilities.

·       Coordinate with the maintenance team to execute scheduled maintenance tasks efficiently.

2.      Problem Identification and Solution Formulation:

·       Proactively identify and assess emerging problems related to equipment or facilities.

·       Formulate effective solutions to address issues promptly and prevent potential disruptions.

3.      Budget Management:

·       Monitor and control the budget for the current month, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.

·       Provide detailed budget reports and projections for the upcoming month, highlighting potential areas for cost optimization.

4.      Shift Scheduling and Leave Management:

·       Maintain and update shift schedules for the maintenance team, ensuring adequate coverage.

·       Manage leave requests and approvals, as well as advance requests, to maintain a balanced and efficient workflow.

5.      Store Requisition Management:

·       Generate store requisitions in accordance with the approved budget.

·       Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely procurement of necessary materials and supplies.

Technical Proficiency Criteria

1. Repair and Fabrication:

·       Utilize your experience to perform required repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal functionality.

·       Should have the ability to fabricate machine parts, contributing to the efficient operation of equipment.

2. Machine Fabrication for Plant Requirements:

·       Contribute to the fabrication of new machinery as per the plant's evolving requirements.

·       Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that fabricated machines meet plant specifications.

3. Workshop Machine Maintenance:

·       Maintain and troubleshoot workshop machines, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency.

·       Implement preventive maintenance measures to extend the lifespan of workshop equipment.

4. Technical Expertise:

·       Possess in-depth knowledge of bearings, lubrication techniques, and general maintenance practices.

·       Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance maintenance processes.
